PARKER TROPHY AND
PARKER TROPHY PLATE COMPETITION
1. The Competition shall
be called the 'Parker Trophy' and shall be held annually
- entrance fee as agreed by the Match Secretary.
2. Each
Club in the League shall be entitled to enter one or more
teams in the competition. Details of players and team registrations
to be submitted by the 30th September. However, these registrations
may be added to up to the 31st December and handicaps will
be adjusted as necessary. No additional registrations to
take effect until the date of the draw for the next round
after the date of registration. First and second rounds
to be played in weeks specified by the match secretary prior
to the fixture meeting.
3. The Competition
shall be organised by an elected sub-committee which shall
have the power to deal with all disputes.
4. The Competition
shall be on a one leg knock-out basis. Matches will consist
of five events, three mixed, one ladies and one Gentlemans
doubles. The order of play shall be mutually agreed by the
two Captains, but in the case of disagreement the order
of play shall be either the Ladies followed by the Gentlemans
Doubles, or vice versa, then the third mixed, the first
mixed and the second mixed in that order. First Division
Teams will enter the competition after the first two rounds
have been played. All teams losing in round 1 and 2 will
go forward to a plate competition to be called the PARKER
TROPHY PLATE -to be played in accordance with Parker Trophy
rules.
5. Each
team shall consist of not more than four ladies and four
men and couples must play in order of strength.
6. Teams
will be handicapped at the start of the competition. Handicaps
may be adjusted after each round. Each couple will play
from that handicap (i.e. if the team handicap is +6 then
all three mixed, ladies and gentlemans doubles will play
off +6) adjusted in accordance with the official handicap
tables in the Badminton Association of England Handbook.
NO SETTING is to be allowed in handicapped events.
7. The Home
Club shall provide any recognised standard shuttle. The
semi-finals and finals will be played at a venue, pre-booked
by the Committee prior to the commencement of the competition.
Cost of the semi-final to be shared equally between the
participating teams. The cost of the final to be borne by
the League. The match will be played with a recognised standard
of shuttle.
8. Captains
of teams shall simultaneously exchange Team Sheets and no
alteration shall be permitted during the course of the match.
9. Score
sheets must be signed by both Captains and forwarded within
48 hours of the conclusion of the match by the Home Team
to the Competition Secretary and the Press Liaison Officer.

ARTHUR CAPPER TROPHY
1. The competition
shall be called the 'Arthur Capper Trophy' to be held annually
- entrance fee to be agreed by the competition committee.
2. Each
Club in the League from Division 3 and below shall be entitled
to enter teams in the competition. Details of players to
be submitted to the Tournament Secretary ONE WEEK before
the day of the Tournament
3. All players
must be registered in Division 3 or below on the day teams
are submitted
4. The competition
shall be organised by an elected sub-committee, which shall
have the power to deal with all disputes.
5. The first
round of the competition shall be played in Leagues on a
'Round Robin' basis. Matches will consist of 1 mens, 1 ladies
and one mixed doubles. During the first round matches each
player, male and female, must play one game of mixed. The
subsequent rounds shall be on a 'knock out' basis
6. Each
team shall consist of three men and three ladies
7. Teams
will be handicapped at the start of the competition. Handicaps
will be adjusted for the subsequent rounds up to and including
the final.
8. The competition
(for this season) to be played with an approved brand of
feather shuttle.
